7.Profit and Loss
hard
A shopkeeper sells $25$ articles at $Rs.\, 45$ per article after giving $10 \%$ discount and earns $50 \%$ profit. If the discount is not given, the profit gained is......$\%$
A
$60$
B
$60 \frac{2}{3}$
C
$66$
D
$66 \frac{2}{3}$
Solution
$S.P.$ $=Rs. 45 /$ each; $\quad$ profit $=50 \%$
$S.P.$ without discount $=45 \times \frac{100}{90}=Rs. 50$
$\therefore$ $C.P. =\frac{ S.P. }{1.5}=\frac{45}{1.5}=Rs. 30$
$\therefore$ Without discount profit $\%=\frac{ S.P. – C.P. }{ C.P. } \times 100$
$=\frac{50-30}{30} \times 100=\frac{2}{3} \times 100=66 \frac{2}{3} \%$
