7.Profit and Loss
medium
A shopkeeper sells rice at $10 \%$ profit and uses weight $30 \%$ less than the actual measure. His gain percent is
A
$57 \frac{2}{3}$
B
$57 \frac{1}{7}$
C
$57 \frac{2}{5}$
D
$57 \frac{3}{7}$
Solution
Let $C.P$ of $1$ $gm$ rice $=₹ 1$
Let he shells $100 gm \stackrel{ CP }{\longrightarrow} ₹ 100$
$S.P$ of $100\, gm$ with profit $10 \%=₹ 110$
But he actually sells $\rightarrow 70 \%$ ( 100 ) $gm =70 gms$
So, he sells $70$ $gm$ rice at $₹ 110$
$P \%=\frac{110-70}{70} \times 100=57 \frac{1}{7} \%$
