Reason : Shoot growth is not effected by gravity
If both Assertion and Reason are correct and the Reason is a correct explanation of the Assertion.
If both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not a correct explanation of the Assertion.
If the Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect.
If both the Assertion and Reason are incorrect.
Solution
Ginger is an example of rhizome (e.g. prostrate stem creeping horizontally under soil surface). There is no effect of gravity. Rhizome of ginger contains nodes, internodes and scaly leaves. Buds are emerges from axils of scaly leaves. Response to light by plants is called phototropism. In this sense, shoot shows positive phototropism and root shows negative phototropism
