12.Kinetic Theory of Gases
normal
In the given $(V-T)$ diagram, what is the relation between pressure $P_1$ and $P_2$ is

A
$P_2 > P_1$
B
$P_2 < P_1$
C
$P_2 = P_1$
D
None of these
Solution
According to Ideal gas equation
$P V=n R T$ or $V=\frac{n R T}{P}$
For an isobaric process,
$\mathrm{P}=$ constant and $\mathrm{V} \propto \mathrm{T}$
Therefore, $\mathrm{V}$ $-$ $\mathrm{T}$ graph is a straight line passing through origin. Slope of this line is inversely proportional to $P$
$\mathrm{(slope)}$ $_{2}>(\text { slope })_{1}$
$\therefore {P_2} < {P_1}$
