4.Average
medium
Of the three numbers, the second is twice the first and thrice the third. If the average of the three numbers is $44,$ then the largest number is
A
$24$
B
$72$
C
$36$
D
$108$
Solution
Let the third Number $=x$
The second Number $=3 x$
and first Number $=\frac{3 x}{2}$
According to the question
$x+3 x+\frac{3 x}{2}=44 \times 3 \Rightarrow \frac{2 x+6 x+3 x}{2}=132$
$x=\frac{132 \times 2}{11} \Rightarrow x=24$
Largest Number $=24 \times 3=72$
