3. Coordinate Geometry
medium
Points $A(5,3), B(-2,3)$ and $D(5,-4)$ are three vertices of a square $A B C D .$ Plot these points on a graph paper and hence find the coordinates of the vertex $C.$
Option A
Option B
Option C
Option D
Solution

Plot the points $A(5,3), B(-2,3)$ and $D(5,-4) .$ Join $A B$ and $A D .$ As $A B C D$ is a square, so all its sides are equal and each angle is of $90^{\circ}$ measure. Therefore, the abscissa of the vertex $C$ will be $-2$ and ordinate $-4 .$ Hence, the coordinates of the vertex $C$ are $(-2,-4).$
