Solution
In $II$ quadrant, all $(x, y)$ lie with $x<0$ and $y<0 .$ In quadrant $I V,$ all $(x, y)$ lie with $x>0$ and $y<0 .$
So, the point whose abscissa and ordinate have different signs will lie in $II$ and $IV$ quadrants only.
