Solution
(a) Distance between the balls = Distance travelled by first ball in $3$ seconds -Distance travelled by second ball in $2$ seconds $=\frac{1}{2}g\;{(3)^2} – \frac{1}{2}g\;{(2)^2} = 45 – 20 = 25\;m$
