hard
A fruit seller sells $\frac{3}{5}$ th part of fruit at a profit of $10 \%$ and remaining at a loss of $5 \% .$ If the total profit is $Rs.\, 1500$ then what is the total cost price of fruit in $Rs.$?
A
$37500$
B
$37000$
C
$36500$
D
$36000$
Solution
Let $C P$ of whole fruit $=R s .$ $A$
He sold $\frac{3}{5}$ th part at $10 \%$ profit and remaining $\frac{2}{5}$ th part at $5 \%$ loss Total profit $= Rs. 1500$
$1500=\left[\frac{3}{5} \times A \times \frac{10}{100}-\frac{2}{5} \times A \times \frac{5}{100}\right]$
On solving above equation we get:
Total $C P=A=R s .37,500$
