easy

A
$1000$
B
$1200$
C
$500$
D
$800$
Solution
Let initial, amount of money be ₹ $x$
He loses $20\frac{1}{2} \%$ then he left with $=\left(x-\frac{41}{2 \times 100}-x\right)$
$=₹ 0.795 x$
After spending $80 \%$ of remainder he left with $Rs.159$
So, $0.795 x-\frac{80}{100} \times 0.795 x=0.2 \times 0.795 x=159$
$x=Rs. 1000$
