7.Profit and Loss
hard
A man sold his two cars for $Rs.$ $4.5$ $lakh$ each. In the sale of first car, he incurred $20 \%$ profit and in the sale of the second, he incurred $20 \%$ loss. The total amount of profit or loss is?
A
profit of $Rs.\, 20250$
B
loss of $Rs.\, 20250$
C
profit of $Rs.\, 37500$
D
loss of $Rs. 37500$
Solution
Here, net $\operatorname{loss} \%=\frac{a^{2}}{100}=4 \%$
Loss $\%=\frac{4}{100}=\frac{C P-[4.5 \times 2 \operatorname{lakh}]}{C P}=C P=Rs.$$9,37,500$
Hence $\operatorname{los} s=C P-S P=9,37,500-9,00,000=$ $Rs. 37500$
