Uses of green chemistry in our life is as below :

$(i)$ Dry Cleaning of Clothes : Tetra chlroroethene $\left(\mathrm{Cl}_{2} \mathrm{C}=\mathrm{CCl}_{2}\right.$ ) was earlier used as solvent for dry cleaning. The compound contaminates the ground water and is also a suspected carcinogen. So insted of this compound liquefied carbon-dioxide with a suitable detergent is used. Replacement of halogenated solvent by liquid $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ will result in less harm to ground water. Hydrogen peroxide $\left(\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{2}\right)$ is used for the purpose of bleaching clothes which gives better results and makes use of lesser amount of water.

$(ii)$ Bleaching of Paper : Earlier chlorine gas was used for bleaching paper whereas hydrogen peroxide $\left(\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{2}\right)$ is used nowaday.

$(iii)$ Synthesis of Chemicals : Ethanal $\left(\mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{CHO}\right)$ is now commercially prepared by oxidation of ethene in presence of ionic catalyst in aqueous medium with a yield of $90 \%$.

$\mathrm{CH}_{2}=\mathrm{CH}_{2}+\mathrm{O}_{2} \underset{\begin{array}{ll}\text { Pd(II) } / \text { Cu(II) (in water) } & \mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{CHO}(90 \%)\end{array}}{\text { Catalyst }}$
