10.Wave Optics
easy
Huygen's theory of secondary waves can be used of find
A
Velocity of light
B
The wavelength of light
C
Wave front geometrically
D
Magnifying power of microscope
Solution
Huygens' principle states that every point on a wave front may be considered as a source of secondary waves. The word interference is used to describe the superposition of two waves, whereas diffraction is interference produced by several waves. By this principle we can find the exact position of the next ripple/wave front that is to be produced.
