Sanjay purchased a chair marked at $Rs.\, 800$ at $2$ successive discount of $10 \%$ and $15 \%$ respectively. He spent $Rs.\, 28$ on transportation and sold the chair for $Rs.$ $800 .$ How much is his gain percentage?
A
$14$
B
$30$
C
$25$
D
$40$
Solution
MP of chair $=$ $Rs. 800$
After getting successive discount of $10 \%$ and $15 \%$ respiectively
$\Rightarrow CP$ of chair $= Rs .\left[800 \times \frac{90}{100} \times \frac{85}{100}\right]= Rs .612$
Total CP (including transportation cost) $612+28=$ $Rs. 640$
Profit $\%=\frac{800-640}{640} \times 100=25 \%$
