(b) $CuI (s) \rightleftharpoons Cu ^{+}(a q)+ I ^{-}(a q)$
$K_{ sp }=\left[ Cu ^{+}\right]\left[ I ^{-}\right]$
If its solubility $=x$, at eqbm., $\left[ Cu ^{+}\right]=x$
and $\left[I^{-}\right]=x, K_{ sp }=x^{2}$.
Since, $K_{ sp }=4 \times 10^{-12}, x=2 \times 10^{-6} M$
$Ag _{2} CrO _{4}(s) \rightleftharpoons 2 Ag ^{+}(a q)+ CrO ^{2-}(a q)$
$\quad K_{s p}=\left[ Ag ^{+}\right]^{2}\left[ CrO _{4}^{2-}\right]$
If its solubility $=y$, at eqbm., $\left[ Ag ^{+}\right]=2 y$
and $\left[ CrO _{4}^{2-}\right]=y$
$\therefore \quad K_{s p}=(2 y)^{2} y=4 y^{3}$
Since, $K_{s p}=4 \times 10^{-12}$
$\quad 4 y^{3}=4 \times 10^{-12}$,
$\quad y=10^{-4}\, M$
$\quad x: y=2 \times 10^{-6} ; 10^{-4}$
$\quad x \quad=2 \times 10^{-2}=0.02$
