7.Profit and Loss
medium
The profit earned by selling an article for $Rs.\, 900$ is double the loss incurred when the same article is sold for $Rs.$ $450 .$ At what price should the article be sold to make $25 \%$ profit in $Rs.$?
A
$400$
B
$500$
C
$700$
D
$750$
Solution
Let $C P$ be Rs. $x$
then, $900-x=2(x-450)$ [Profit $= 2$ Loss]
$3 x=1800 \Rightarrow x=$ $Rs. 600$
$CP = Rs .600,$ gain required $=25 \%$
$SP =(100+\operatorname{gain} \%) \times \frac{ CP }{100}$
$S P=(100+25) \times \frac{600}{100}=$ $Rs. 750$
