The quantities of heat required to raise the temperature of two solid copper spheres of radil $r _{1}$ and $r _{2}\left( r _{1}=1.5 r _{2}\right)$ through $1\;K$ are in the ratio

A

$\frac{5}{3}$

B

$\frac{27}{8}$

C

$\frac{9}{4}$

D

$\frac{3}{2}$

(NEET-2020)

Solution

Heat supplied $\Delta Q= Ms \Delta T$

For same material $'s'$ same.

$\Delta Q \propto M \quad$ and $\quad M=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3} \rho$

$\Delta Q \propto r^{3}$

$\frac{\Delta Q _{1}}{\Delta Q _{2}}=\left(\frac{ r _{1}}{ r _{2}}\right)^{3}=\left(\frac{1.5}{1}\right)^{3}=\frac{27}{8}$
