hard
A man invests $Rs.\, 21,000$ in shares of a company. He sells one$-$third of total shares at a profit of $10 \% .$ But the remaining shares he has to sell at $5 \%$ loss. Find his overall profit or loss $\%.$
A
$10 \%$ profit
B
$10 \%$ loss
C
No profit no loss
D
$5 \%$ loss
Solution
$C.P.$ of one$-$third shares $=\frac{Rs.22100}{3}=₹ 7000$
$S.P.$ of one$-$third shares $=\frac{110}{100} \times 7000=₹ 7700$
$C.P.$ of remaining $\frac{2}{3}$ rd shares $=Rs(21000-7000)=Rs 14000$
$S.P.$ of remaining $\frac{2}{3}$ rd shares $=\frac{95}{100} \times 14000=₹ 13300$
Total $S.P.$ $=₹ 7700+13300=₹ 21000$
Total $C.P. =₹ 21000$
$S \cdot P .= C \cdot P$
or there is no profit no loss.
