$\Rightarrow$ Transformation of epidermal cells : Following transformations are seen in epidermal tissues.

$(1)$ Root hair :

$\Rightarrow$ Structure : In root hair region, epidermal cells of root are expanded as unicellular root hair.

$\Rightarrow$ Function : It expands the region of surface for absorption of water and mineral elements.

$(2)$ Epidermal organs :

$\Rightarrow$ Structure: They are called trichomes and they are transformations of epidermal cells. It is unicellular or multicellular.
