ફેબેસી કુુુળ,સોલેનેસી અને લીલીએસીથી જુદ્દું પડે છે. પુંકેસરોને અનુલક્ષીને એ લક્ષણ શોધો જે કુળ ફેબેસી માટે વિશેષ લાક્ષણિક્તા છે પણ સોલેનેસી કે લીલીએસીમાં જોવા નથી મળતું.
