$(i)$ We know that in the coordinates of a point, the abscissa comes first and then the ordinate. So, the coordinate of a point are $\left(1,-\frac{1}{2}\right)$ and not $\left(-\frac{1}{2}, 1\right)$
$(ii)$ Any point which lies on the $y$ -axis is of the form $(0, y)$. Hence, the given statement is false.
