7.Profit and Loss
medium
A shopkeeper sold Chairs at $Rs.\, 2139$ each after giving $7 \%$ discount on labelled price. Had he not given the discount, he would have earned a profit of $15 \%$ on the cost price. What was the cost price of each chairs? (in $Rs.$)
A
$2500$
B
$2100$
C
$2000$
D
$1900$
Solution
Here, the labelled price of chair is
$=\frac{S P \times 100}{(100-D) \%}=\frac{2139 \times 100}{93}=R s .2300$
Let the $CP$ of chair be $Rs.p$
Now according to question:
$\frac{15}{100}=\frac{2300- p }{ p } \Rightarrow 15 p =230000-100 p$
$p=$ $Rs. 2000$
