The value of $c$ for which the linear equation $2 x+c y=8$ has equal values of $x$ and $y$
i.e., $\quad x=y$ for its solution is
$2 x+c y=8 \Rightarrow 2 x+c x=8 \quad[\because y=x]$
$\Rightarrow c x=8-2 x$
$\therefore c=\frac{8-2 x}{x}, x \neq 0$
