$(0,\,2)$ means $x=0$ and $y=2$

Putting $x=0$ and $y=2$ in $x-2 y=4,$ we have

L.H.S.$= 0-2(2)=-\,4$

But R.H.S $=4$ $\therefore $ L.H.S . $\neq $ R.H.S

$\therefore $ $x =0$, $y =0$ is not a solution.
