$\therefore $ $R$ स्वतुल्य है, पुन: $a R b ==>$ $|a – b| \le 1 \Rightarrow |b – a| \le 1 \Rightarrow bRa$
$\therefore $ $R $ सममित है, पुन: $1R\frac{1}{2}$ तथा $\frac{1}{2}R1$ लेकिन $\frac{1}{2} \ne 1$
$\therefore $ $R$ प्रति सममित नहीं है
पुन:, $_1$ $R _2$ तथा $_2$ $R_3$ किंतु $_1 R _3 $
$\therefore $ $R$ संक्रमक नहीं है।
